The Metamorphosis By: Franz Kafka
The Metamorphosis by Franz Kafka is about a man named Gregor Samsa who was unaccepted by his family and was only respected for the money he brought home. He was responsible for paying off his father’s debt. Gregor wakes up one morning and comes to the conclusion that he is a giant insect. The problem is that he acts as if nothing is wrong. Gregor still feels and acts like a human being would in the situation he is in. All he is concerned with is being on time for work. When his family sees him there reaction is extreme. They start throwing things at him, making him feel isolated. His room is used for storage ignoring the fact that he exists. The only person who attempted to give him a chance was his sister Grete. By the time she was willing to give him that chance he died the next morning. After reading this short story I feel that even your family can turn their backs on you when you need them the most. The author is very talented and I found this book to be very interesting.

The book was pretty interesting and i also felt that family can turn their backs on you because in the book Gregor's parent left him alone once he turned into an insect.Gregor felt very isloated. His sister gave him food to eat but didn't really care if he ate it or not. She did treat him better than her parents and was going to give him a chance but it was too late because Gregor died.Just like her parents Grete did not accept him as an insect and so Gregor died.
